🎹 Akiko Pavolka
Akiko Pavolka is a New York-based musician and composer who’s strikingly original music blends pop and jazz with the music and sensibilities of her native Japan.
She has been performing in NY since 1995, and in addition she has toured extensively on the west coast of the US and in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Argentina and Japan.
Her music takes you on a journey away from your everyday life and into a realm of wandering migrants. From Mongolian nomads to bus riders in Sunset Park to a dog shot into space, they seek out the truths that we all share and are giving voice in her unforgettable songs.
🎤 Ai Matsui
Singer-songwriter and front-woman of the Japanese punk trio Baikin, Ai Matsui brings her own brand of raw energy and emotional depth to the stage. Influenced by artists like PJ Harvey, Thom Yorke, and Damo Suzuki, Ai’s music blends dark, psychedelic tones with poetic lyricism. This time, she’s taking it acoustic - an intimate solo set featuring her original songs and a few carefully chosen covers. Expect something beautifully intense.
🎙 Keith Reese
Brooklyn-based singer with deep punk roots and fearless genre-bending style. Keith channels the fire and honesty of classic NY punk while weaving in his own soulful edge. A devoted fan of bands like The Ramones, he’ll perform a few of his favorite tracks and keep the afternoon flowing as our Emcee - showing off not just his voice but his sharp wit too.
⚡️ Baikin
A “Japunkly” rock trio blending Japanese punk spirit with Brooklyn grit. Baikin’s live shows are a burst of energy - filled with fiery originals and the occasional anime-inspired cover, reimagined in their own punchy style. They’ve been featured several times on WFMU’s "Strong Style" hosted by Chris Rock, and after dropping their first album “Baikin” in 2023, they’re now cooking up their second.
🎸 S.N.B. (Shu Nakamura Band)
Led by Shu Nakamura, a Nagoya-Japan-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and producer, S.N.B. delivers Japanese-style rock with heart and originality. When he’s not collaborating with top musicians across Japan, New York, and beyond, Shu pours his soul into this project - performing his own dynamic, melodic songs. Fresh off the release of his 9th solo album “Koo” (Oct 1), Shu will be joined by Caitlin Oliver-Gans (bass; Silo, Dark Street, etc.) and rising young drummer Takuto Fukushima (from Japan) for a powerful set.
