UK-based Rhythm ‘n’ Blues Group Nine Below Zero have been delighting crowds at gigs and festivals for over 40 years.
After the critical and public acclaim of the classic debut LP Live at the Marquee (1980), the band kept the momentum going with Don’t Point Your Finger (1981) before releasing their third and perhaps most iconic LP on A&M Records, Third Degree (1982) with its iconic front cover shot by the legendary David Bailey. Third Degree is arguably the band’s masterpiece from the A&M era. Kicking off with Eleven Plus Eleven (as performed live on cult comedy The Young Ones), and Wipe Away Your Kiss, the LP mixes 60’s soul with Rhythm ‘n’ Blues which led to Nine Below Zero touring with The Who and The Kinks.
Having reformed in 1990, Nine Below Zero have been performing all over the world ever since with original frontmen Dennis Greaves and Mark Feltham (one of the finest harmonica players the UK has ever produced) joined by Dennis’ son Sonny on drums and bass-player Anthony Harty, whose musical CV has seen him play in bands as wide-ranging as The Style Council, The Selecter,The Beat and Lee Scratch Perry.
