Nikon Live: Illumination and Vision | Fine Art Portraiture with
Join award-winning visual artist, fine art portrait and fashion photographer, Forough Yavari, as she takes you through the various stages of producing a fine art portrait.
Covering from the inspiration and ideation phase all the way to the final photography stage, this workshop will run in two halves.
The first part of the session will start from the inspiration phase, developing it into a concept and then translating it into a visual representation. Followed by a deep analysis of some of Forough’s award-winning images as well as tips on how to create images that are comprehensible to a wide audience.
The second part of the session will be a live portrait shoot, demonstrating using studio lights to create a fine art portrait, while covering topics such as the benefits of using a mood board, making outfits like a designer, lighting techniques, and storytelling imagery.
By the end of the workshop, the audience will be encouraged to create their own beautiful fine art portraits under the guidance of Forough.
This session is designed for both beginner and seasoned artists, and portrait and fashion photographers. Whether you are new to fine art photography or an experienced professional, this session will provide value and inspiration to everyone.
The estimated length of this class will be between 90-120 minutes.
Each session is interactive and held in small groups, with the opportunity to ask questions to have the best possible experience.
Skill Level: Everyone regardless of skill level is welcome.

What to bring
- No equipment is required, although attendees are welcome to bring their camera to test settings or get assistance with specific Nikon models.
