Weβre proud to debut sensory-friendly activities during Lights Before Christmas presented by Huntington Bank!As part of the Conda Family Zoo for All Program, Nights at the Lights presented by Mercy Health are designed to remove barriers and create more accessible experiences for every guest, with optional accommodations to best fit individual needs.
Both of these nights are included in Lights admission (free for members).
Please note: Potential high-stimulation areas, including Blade Plaza near the main entrance, will still be active during these nights and are shown on the map.
What to Expect:
π A quiet sensory area in the Relic Room on the lower level of the π ProMedica Museum of Natural History.
π A calm break space in the Captainβs Room, found inside the Aquarium.
π Relaxed activities like quiet storybook telling in the Great Hall.
π A digital sensory-friendly map, listed on this page, with a recommended route to avoid areas with fast, flashing lights and music.
π Includes marked headphone zones in high-stimulation areas.
Accommodations Available throughout Lights:
π Sensory signage placed at the entrances of various buildings and exhibits.
π Sensory bags available to borrow at the Visitor Services building (North Side) and Broadway Ticket Booths (South Side).
π Disposable earplugs available at all ticket booths upon request.
π Communication cards are available to view or print from our accessibility webpage prior to your visit.
π Staff and Santa trained in disability etiquette to support and welcome all guests.
