Get Outdoors Monthly Nights at The Joslyn are evenings for art immersion. Come out for gallery talks, live music, art making, special programs, and tasty food and drinks (for purchase). Celebrate the beginning of summer fun with art-inspired activities in our garden spaces, including the transformation of our Curator Conversation programs into Walk & Talk programs.
A look at the fun this month from 5–8 pm:
• Begin at our Welcome Table near the Main Entrance! Pick up a program and map for the evening. We can let you know about membership opportunities, upcoming programs, our Bloomberg Connects digital guide, and Art Card self-guide resources. We also can help with any accessibility needs.
• Join us for a 40-minute Garden Walk & Talk with Ryan Gillen, Landscape Maintenance Technician and Janie Helt, Community Programs Manager, who will be incorporating mindful walking practices in the experience. ASL Interpretation provided and the walk will take place on accessible pathways.
• At 6:15 pm, we will have an Outdoor Sculpture Walk & Talk with Camryn Moore, Rae and Bill Dyer Curatorial Assistant. ASL Interpretation is provided and the 40-minute walk will take place on accessible pathways.
• Have fun painting with watercolors in our garden spaces. This art project is led by a teaching artist and all ages are welcome.
• Check out our Art Cart station, with opportunities to touch hands-on materials and talk about art with our friendly Gallery Volunteers.
• Drop-In Sketching! We have all the materials you need for sketching—a great way to slow down and look carefully at what you see.
• The Founder’s Room is designated as a quiet space for this event, stocked with an array of books and games.
• Don’t forget to check out more great spaces—The Cafe offers food and drink for sale. The Shop has beautiful art items for all ages and interests. If you are part of an intergenerational group, be sure to visit Art Works: A Place for Curiosity, an interactive space with nine different art activity stations (children must be accompanied by adults).
Generous support provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.
