Art of TodayMonthly Nights at The Joslyn are evenings for art immersion. Come out for gallery talks, live music, art making, special programs, and tasty food and drinks (for purchase).
This month we’re celebrating the creativity of artists who are working around the world today. Featuring a 6–6:45 pm Curator Conversation* with Karin Campbell, Phil Willson Curator of Contemporary Art, about the installation of our contemporary works in the new Hawks Pavilion. Drop in for a variety of activities offered throughout the evening.

A look at the fun this month from 5-8 pm:
• Begin at our Welcome Table in the Hawks Pavilion! Pick up a program and map for the evening. We can let you know about membership opportunities, upcoming programs, our Bloomberg Connects digital guide, and Art Card self-guide resources. We also can help with any accessibility needs.
• Curator Conversations, 6-6:45 pm; Karin Campbell, Phil Willson Curator of Contemporary Art, speaks about the installation of our contemporary works in the new Hawks Pavilion. Each month, Joslyn Art Museum curators, scholars, and community partners will have conversations about different areas of the collection—sharing new works and how the reinstallation unfolded in each part of the Museum’s collection. • Enjoy a dance performance by tbd.dance collective, designed for specific museum spaces in the Hawks Pavilion and Scott Pavilion at 7pm.
• Participate in a hands-on workshop to create clay beads for Cannupa Hanska Luger’s Bison Bead Project, an ongoing collaborative art effort honoring the resilience of Plains bison. The beads will be part of an upcoming exhibition at The Joslyn.
• Check out our Art Cart station, with opportunities to touch hands-on materials and talk about art with our friendly Gallery Volunteers.
• Drop-In Sketching! We have all the materials you need for sketching—a great way to slow down and look carefully at what you see.
• Visit Studio 1 to create a work of art inspired by work in the collection. All ages are welcome.
• The Founder’s Room is designated as a quiet space for this event, stocked with an array of books and games.
• Don’t forget to check out more great spaces—The Cafe offers food and drink for sale and The Shop has beautiful art items for all ages and interests. If you are part of an intergenerational group, be sure to visit Art Works: A Place for Curiosity, an interactive space with nine different art activity stations (children must be accompanied by adults).
