NOT RECOMMENDED FOR AGES UNDER 15Having grown up in Mulvane, author Gage Sears has found many things to draw up on for inspiration in various works of fiction. Many elements of his hometown can be found across the multiple stories he has published, and across much more of his unpublished work. However, being a natural storyteller doesn't always mean that he can write a story entirely without aid from outside sources.
In summer 2024, Gage thought of a story that was once passed through his friends as teenagers in Mulvane. A terrifying tale of a cryptic monster that haunted the fabled Mile High Bridge of his hometown. Though, he could not remember the exact story, so he called upon the community he grew up in. The response he got was very helpful in providing information, though not the exact story he was looking for. But, using the information he could remember of the story told amongst friends, and the information provided by the towns people, a story was written.
As a promise to those that came to the authors aid, Gage said he would allow the people of Mulvane the opportunity to read the story for themselves, before any official editing, or publications. Through trial and error, multiple things were tried to deliver on this promise, but nothing was good enough, until he had an idea. Using resources in his hometown, Gage developed an image, finally putting some of his college classes to use. Utilizing the public speaking class he took years ago, Gage decided he would deliver the story to his hometown community himself, the way it sounded in his head.
Join Mulvanes hometown horror writer for the grand reveal of his latest short horror story, Mile High Bridge this Halloween season. October 30th, at 6PM, a new nightmare, and folklore will be gifted to the town. No address will be provided, but an image of where the event will take place will be. This design of location reveal gives the advantage to the people of Gage's hometown. Everyone in Mulvane will know the pictured location, and will know exactly where to go. An alternate location will be on standby in the case of inclement weather.
Merch will be available for purchase, including both of the authors published books. Books can be signed after Gage has concluded the story. During sales and signings, the author will be taking questions from the public, regardless of whether a purchase was made or not. Come support a local author, and get something new to fear this Halloween season! This event is free to attend, though is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 15.
