About this Event
Greensboro's favorite doom-pop outfit Nightblooms returns to Double Oaks B&B for our third annual night in the garden. This year, we'll be joined by the brand-new indie chamber ensemble Sounding Board, a group featuring UNCG School of Music faculty and alumni. This event takes place in Double Oaks's beautiful backyard, so be prepared for an outdoor show. If Mother Nature doesn't cooperate (who can blame her?), we will postpone with a rain date TBD.
This is also an early show, with doors opening at 5:30pm and music ending by 9:00pm. Alcohol and other beverages will be available for purchase; bring your own food and snacks.
Advance Tickets: $15
Day-of Tickets: $25
Student Tickets (proof of ID required; day-of only): $10

Nightblooms: Driven by despair but buoyed by common cause, the breezy songs of Nightblooms tackle heavy subjects like climate change, our shared modern anxieties, and the grief of living through end times. Reading our isolated lyrics might be a real bummer, but the music is pretty fun. Hopefully our equal parts honey-and-vinegar approach leaves you with a taste of optimism. This is happy music for sad times; dark tunes that shine brightly; love songs for the apocalypse. Listen to Nightblooms here.
RIYL: Wilco, Weyes Blood, George Harrison, Andy Shauf, Kevin Morby, Elliott Smith
Sounding Board: A new indie chamber music ensemble composed of Annie Jeng (piano), Rachael Keplin (viola), Luke Ellard (clarinet), and Erik Schmidt (percussion). As classically-trained musicians, Sounding Boards channels childhood dreams of being a "real band" in the same sentiment of Pinnochio's "I'm a real boy." Crowd surf to some of their minimalistic girly pop grooves, chaotic and profound noises, and weepy melodies.
