Learn about some common winter constellations with a ranger!We'll tour the night sky for Winter constellations. We'll even have one or two park telescopes out to look at some deep sky objects!
We ask that you do NOT bring any white light flashlights. Red lights only to allow our eyes to adjust to the dark. Please keep pets at home this time.
Bring: Bug spray, a comfortable chair or blanket, hydration, red flashlight or red headlight. We will be looking up most of the time, reclining chairs and blankets are optimal.
Optional: binoculars
Where: Day Use picnic area (north Rec Hall parking lot). Look for the red lights.
Accessibility: Accessible parking available. The program will take place in a flat, grassy area. For questions on accessibility, email Ranger Sara.
Pets: Please keep pets at home for this program.
Details:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Groups larger than eight please contact Sara Rock for a private event.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
