Have you ever wanted to capture a lovely night scene with your camera but didn’t quite know how to go about it? If so, it’s easier than you think, and this class is for you! Come learn the basics and more about shooting photos at night – whether it’s landscapes, city scenes, the milky way, the inside of your abode, or the moon – and expand your photo skills. We’ll hold a two-hour morning session inside the classroom, and then meet outside on an agreed-upon evening to complete the field portion of the class. Your instructors will be Shawn Wilson from Phototek and Dan Plummer from Gallery by the Lake. The class is targeted toward those with film or digital cameras, but we’ll cover as much as we can about your phone’s camera, too. You’ll need to bring your camera with a normal or wide-angle lens, and your camera manual. If you have a tripod and/or remote shutter release, you’ll want to bring them, too.
The class will meet from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday January 11th in room 225 of the Central School Arts & Humanities Center at 809 Kirby Street in Lake Charles. The cost is $30 for Gallery by the Lake members and $35 for non-members. Sign up and pay at https://www.gallerybythelake.org/event-info/night-photography-2.
Gallery by the Lake is supported by a grant from the City of Lake Charles administered by the Arts & Humanities Council of SWLA.
