night grass: Exhibition Talk with Alex Callender and Tao Leigh Goffe

In conjunction with Alex Callender’s latest solo exhibition, night grass, island gallery is pleased to present the artist in conversation with Tao Leigh Goffe. Goffe is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and associate professor at Hunter College, joining Callender to discuss the exhibition as well as overlapping subjects and processes between their respective work. Their discussion will feature topics of working with archival fragments, issues of ecology, and ideas surrounding ‘haunting’, the relationship between our present and the past. Goffe is also founder of Dark Lab, a research and tech collective, and will be releasing her new book, Dark Laboratory On Columbus, the Caribbean, and the Origins of the Climate Crisis, this coming January 2025. The event will take place on the evening of Saturday, December 14th at island.
