Night 1: Baroque & Unknown

Presented by The Creative Voice and sponsored by The Arts Council for Monterey County, Baroque & Unknown is a unique music education community initiative that aims to celebrate and showcase the works of underrepresented women, and marginalized, composers from the Baroque era, while blending history, music, food, drinks, and immersive experiences into a night of community fun.

Event Highlights:

Each evening features a Expert Guest Speaker, Salon-Style Performance, Immersive Experiences and Food & Beverage Tastings.

Baroque & Unknown is delighted to present the series in partnership with at her venue in downtown Monterey at 550 Hartnell Street. Think of this experience as a Modern Baroque Artist Salon. The performance space is small and intimate with various seating options*.

• FLOOR SEATS: Floor seats land you up front for the program with a seat directly near the Speakers & Performers. You'll also gain access to the event experience including tastings and immersive experiences.
  
• GALLERY SEATS: Gallery seats gain you access to the upper gallery area where you can cozy up to a cocktail table and look down on the performances from the upper balcony, or, sit back and listen to the acoustics of the space while viewing the performance on a large video monitor.
  
• SOCIAL PASS: Like to roam around and socialize at the party? Like to show up a bit late? These limited passes are for folks who want to roam the party and catch the performance from the back of the room like it's standing room only.
  
• VIP ROOM & FRONT ROW SEATS FOR 6: Take you and your friends on a date! When you purchase the VIP room for the night you gain access to TWO seating options. 6 First Row seats in Floor Seating AND 6 private seats in The Birdwing Upstairs Suite. The VIP Room includes private upstairs room, special food display, swag bag, drinks, and a 15 minute Meet & Greet with night's Featured Guest Speaker. • GUEST SPEAKER: Kathryn Radakovich, Learning Development Director of the Boulanger Initiative. An organization working to redefine the canon and uplift the works of women composers.
  
• HIGHLIGHTED COMPOSERS: Raffaella Aleotti & Francesca Caccini
  
• FEATURED PERFORMERS: Featured women from the Central Coast Chamber Choir will be showcasing vocal works by Aleotti & Caccini

• After Check-In: First Names Only: Let's keep things egalitarian—no last names needed. In this space, we’re all just music lovers, transcending the usual class distinctions.

• Dress Like an Artist: Whether you wanna dress like a Baroque composer or a modern-day muse, wear something that inspires you.

• Eyes off phones. Eyes on performers: Silence your phones and pay attention - performances could pop up anywhere throughout the night.
