About this Event
When computers are involved in the creation of electronic music or video, the machine aspect often takes the lead. The signature of human touch can be marginalized. Using a morse code key, computer gaming controls, and cameras, Niemela & Craig perform live electronic music and video (visual music) that brings the immediate connection of human touch back into the frame. The ever slight fluctuations of the human hand make the technology personable.
After serving as a graphic artist at Microsoft, Niemela turned to the musical arts, participating in Ars Electronica, Seattle IMF Jazz, and concerts by the Seattle Symphony. Craig builds video and writes exotic art installation code for Eunsu Kang, Ha Na Lee, and The University of Washington.
