The Neonatal Advanced Life Support (ALS )course is designed to provide the healthcare professional with advanced knowledge and skills to allow rapid assessment and management of the compromised newborn.
The ALS course is open to those healthcare professionals who have the responsibility of caring for neonates in the delivery room and in Neonatal Intensive Care settings.
The course is a 4 day program consisting of lectures, hands on skill stations, and simulation labs. These interactive sessions integrate new information, previous knowledge, and learned skills. After completion of this program the Registered Nurse/Respiratory Therapist will be prepared to work in an extended role under the direction of a neonatologist.
