Raised by two sets of foster parents; a veteran, a teacher, a farmer and a caregiver; Nick Marshall was able to emerge from the foster care system as a high school and University of Louisville (UofL) graduate. Now, after a beginning a career in banking, Nick works with organizations across Kentuckiana to advocate for children in foster care, improve child literacy rates, and provide guidance to teenagers working to graduate or obtain their GEDs.
Nick’s campaign for State Senate is fueled by his passion for these kids and his own. He and his wife Melonie met at UofL and have two kids named Sebastian and Evelyn. When he’s not coaching their soccer games or changing diapers, he’s worried about their futures. He knows what it means to have a good home, and how devastating it can be when you don’t. Strong families are the foundation of any community, we need leaders in Indianapolis like Nick dedicated to those families everyday, not just when it pays off.
