Nick Herbison is a singer songwriter whose artistry has been honed in his hometown of Hawkes Bay. He has a deep connection to the acoustic guitar, which forms the foundation of the songs he has released over the last 5 years as a performing artist. With his deep rich vocals and his meaningful songwriting style, Nick delivers a message that resonates with the hearts and souls it touches. He has explored genres from RnB, Blues, Indie Rock and Folk to deliver messages of Hope, Love, Courage and Wellness.Since 2019 he has released 4 EPs and a handful of singles - some self produced in his home studio in Haumoana, others with the expertise of local artists/producers Finn Roberts (Wet Bandits) and Thomas Oliver. As well as his solo artistry, Nick performs as the front man of Sandy Sheets which has been making waves on the live and recorded scene since 2023.
Nick is forging his first self-produced album, with the support of fellow musician and band member Hugh McKendrey (drummer/producer). With the playing abilities of Hugh, Wills Vandermeent (bass) and Ben Liley (guitar), 'Nick Herbison and the Locals' are bringing their act to stage for the first time. The band has performed as part of a Hawkes Bay Music Hub funded studio produced video called 'Upstage' in which they perform two of Nicks songs 'Moment' and 'Know Your Addiction'.
Support will be provided by the emerging local indie psychedelic three piece, Spring Flowers.
Bar opens from 3pm. Music from 7pm.
