Over the past 10 years, Nicholas Mallis and the Borealis have been consistently bringing their brand of weirdo pop to Athens and beyond. They incorporate elements of new wave, post punk, disco, and surf rock and pack it all into an engaging live show that walks the line of absurdity. Mallis has shared bills with indie greats like Dan Deacon and Kishi Bashi and even played as a side man in the solo efforts of Athens legends Cindy Wilson and Fred Schneider (The B-52’s).
are local Athenian dwellers in their own genre-muting world. They embody a spirit of psychedelic-folk-pop, with a currently up-beat and dance oriented live set. In their sound you can find kindred inspiration from local sages B-52s and Pylon, as well as a reminiscence to Elephant 6 dream-scape explorations.
is an Athens, GA-based indie/punk band led by Adam Wayton, known for their catchy, existential, vintage pop-rock sound that blends heartache and humor, with recent releases like the album Ad Nauseam and singles often supporting charities, showcasing their DIY spirit and community focus. They describe themselves as an "identity crisis" of vintage pop and indie rock, delivering relatable, lo-fi-infused tracks about modern life.
