Please join us at National City Christian Church on Friday, September 5, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. At this opening concert of our fall 2025 season we are welcoming organist Nicholas Galinaitis, who will perform an exciting program of works beginning with Bach and concluding with Ives:
• Sinfonia from Cantata No. 29, “Wir danken dir, Gott wir danken dir” – Johann Sebastian Bach, arr. Marcel Dupré
• Prelude in G Major, Op. 32, No. 5 – Sergei Rachmaninoff, transcribed by Nicholas Galinaitis
• Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op. 3, No. 2 – Sergie Rachmaninoff, transcribed by Nicholas Galinaitis
• Naïades (Water Nymphs) from Pièces de Fantasie, Op. 55 – Louis Vierne
• O Welt, ich muss dich lassen, Op. 122, No. 3 – Johannes Brahms
• Variations on “America” – Charles Ives
Nicholas Galinaitis is a concert pianist and organist known for his expressive artistry and versatility. A native of Taneytown, Maryland, he is a graduate of McDaniel College and has been active in the Los Angeles music scene since 2020. Nicholas has performed at venues such as the Los Angeles Breakfast Club, “Art for Hearts’ Sake” in Baltimore, Christ Cathedral, and the Cathedral of the Visitation in Lithuania. He currently serves as Director of Music Ministry at Newport Harbor Lutheran Church in Newport Beach and as organist at St. Casimir’s Lithuanian Parish in Los Angeles.
