JOIN US FOR A FUN & CHALLENGING HIKE in Niagara! We've done this hike many times. This hike is one of my favourites and a very enjoyable and challenging hike. With such beautiful views and amazing lookout points, you'll have some amazing gorgeous photos by the whirlpool to show off to all your friends and family! Make sure your phone is fully charged, as you'll be taking lots of photos!
Here is what to expect:
- 9km or less - technical hike loop suitable for intermediate-level hikers
- forested paths with areas that are really going to work your legs and glutes
- technical hiking over tree roots and lots and lots of rocks... did I mention rocks?!
- 238m elevation gain
- rope climbing section OR stairs to Heaven
- lunch by the whirlpool (bring your own lunch)
- clean washrooms at the Niagara Glen nature centre
- hiking spots include some steep climbs, stairs OR a rope climbing section
What you need to bring:
- wear hiking shoes/hiking boots (check the weather before you leave)
- dress appropriately for the weather (check the weather to see if you need to bring hat, gloves, additional layers, etc)
- pack at least 8 cups of water or beverage (at least 4 × 500ml bottles)
- lunch and snacks
- Optional: hiking poles. I have 2 extra if anyone needs a pair.
- microspikes/icers - hikers need to have a pair on them for all hikes between now and April.
- rain jacket - in case of rain, keep one in your bag
The terrain is rocky. Be prepared for all conditions on trail including mud.

MEETING TIME:
We start at 11am. Please arrive by 10:45am. I will guide everyone through a warmup and then we will start the hike.
If you are late, I will share my location in the chat group and you can follow the location to find the group.
Carpool requests:
I provide a carpool forum in the event where drivers and passengers can arrange with each other for rides. Please don't involve the hike leader in carpool arrangements. It is the responsibility of each hiker to find their own transportation. You can rent a car, invite a friend, co-worker, or family member who drives to the event, or post in the event for a carpool.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED - 20 SPOTS
This meetup will be capped at 20 spots. To join, please reserve a spot by sending the meetup fee as outlined below:
Meetup fee:
$35+hst ($39.60) until 6pm Thursday November 14
$40+hst ($45.20) after 6:01pm Friday November 15

*Meetup fees help support in the extensive work involved in planning, organizing, and coordinating events for this group.
*Hikes are organized by a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor and the fee is affordable and lower than what other organizations charge for a day hike ($150+).
*I provide a whatsapp group for important announcements and updates. Link will be provided in the event. I take photos of the event and share them in the chat after.

5 Day Hiking Pass (tax-free):
-Can be used towards ANY 5 hikes (valid until December 31st, 2024) up to $25/event. -E-transfer the difference if event is more than $25/event.
-Keep track of your hikes. If you confirm after the early bird deadline (6pm Thursday/Friday), etransfer the difference as follows:
$15 before 6pm Thursday
$20 after 6pm Friday (or use 2 passes)
$25 × 5 = $125 (don't pay tax)
Bonus 1: pay up front and save the tax.
Bonus 2: everyone who registers for the 5 day hiking pass receives a FREE yearly calendar that you can track your hikes with.
Note: once you confirm your spot and your name is added to the list, a session is counted.
Cancelation policy:
-Meetup fees are final (no refunds once a spot has been booked and confirmed). Cancel 1 week (7 days) before an event for a credit towards another event. If the organizer has to reschedule an event for any reason, credit will be applied to the recheduled hike or kept on file for future use).
-Fees are not negotiable. This is the number one group for regular scheduled and organized hikes in Ontario, offering safe and enjoyable hikes for a fraction of the cost of other organizations.
