Hidden Falls Park, where we usually hold this class, is too wet from all the rain we've had. We will be at Uŋčí Makhá Park until at least July 7.
Dance on the grass with us this summer! Nia is a unique combination of nine movement forms drawn from dance, martial arts and healing arts. We move our entire bodies in a healthful, sustainable way to sense joy and pleasure, not pain. Nia is for all fitness abilities and all ages. Nia can be an intense aerobic workout or more easy and gentle, depending the level of intensity you bring to the movement.
Dress in comfortable clothes, Nia is meant to be practiced in bare feet. Shoes are an option too. Bring a water bottle and a mat for the end of class. We'll have a sign-in sheet by the tree and sunscreen and bug spray if you need it.
We are dancing at the very south end of the Park right next to the River Blvd. and located just before you would make the turn into Hidden Falls North Gate. There's a playground and we'll dance right behind it next to a pine tree. There's a parking lot across from it that offers a scenic look over the Mississippi. We'll have our Nia in the Park sign up along the River Road next to the park. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to get settled and find parking.
If we have to cancel due to rain or severe weather we'll announce the cancellation on Nia Classes with Beth Giles Facebook page.
