Inscenace Motherland je propojením současného tance, objektové akce a lyrických textů.
Nhung Dang a kolektiv skrze tyto umělecké formy zkoumají různé podoby rodičovství – od těch inspirovaných světem zvířat a kulturními mýty, až po obrazy vznikající ve vlastní fantazii. Prostřednictvím androgynních a posthumánních zobrazení těla narušují zažité představy o mateřství a genderových rolích. Kladou si otázku, zda – a jak – může „mateřství“ existovat i mimo těla „matek“, a kdo všechno může nést roli pečujících bytostí.
Vznik projektu podpořily Tantehorse, Palác Akropolis, Cabin Studio a tep39. Inscenace je koprodukcí Studia Hrdinů a Nhung Company.

🎈Motherland🎈
Performance Motherland combines contemporary dance, object action, and lyrical texts. Through these artistic forms, Nhung Dang and her collective explore various forms of parenthood – from those inspired by the animal world and cultural myths to images created in their own imagination. Through androgynous and posthuman depictions of the body, they disrupt established notions of motherhood and gender roles. They ask whether – and how – “motherhood” can exist outside the bodies of “mothers” and who can take on the role of caregiver.
The project was supported by Tantehorse, Palác Akropolis, Cabin Studio, and tep39. The production is a co-production of Studio Hrdinů and Nhung Company.
The project was created with financial support from the City of Prague, the State Fund for Culture of the Czech Republic, the Arts Institute – Theater Institute, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, and the Artist’s Life Foundation.
