For the first time Ngaiire is bringing her band to Aotearoa and hitting the stage with longtime friend and Wellington-bred Wallace for a night of neo-soul, electronic infused jazz and alternative pop.
The Papua New Guinean x Sydney based artist has built a musical identity that effortlessly crosses genre and art form. Her renowned vocals, tight beats and big pop sounds have seen NGAIIRE acquire countless accolades including four National Live Music Awards, an FBi Radio SMAC Award for best live act, Australian Music Prize and AIR Award nominations and the inaugural Australian Women in Music Award for Artistic Excellence. Not to mention gracing the stages of Glastonbury through to Splendour In The Grass, and touring alongside artists from Sufjan Stevens to Flume to Alicia Keys and John Legend.
Consistently connecting the dots between genres and influences, Wallace’s artistic identity has become uniquely recognisable, with her jazz training and distinct harmonies captivating audiences around the globe. This style has seen her work in the studio with Dutch legends Kraak & Smaak, Australian hip-hop staples Thundamentals, Botswana-raised, Melbourne-based rapper Sampa The Great, laying vocals over beats by Godriguez, and most recently feature on Sola Rosa’s 2020 album ‘Chasing The Sun'. Celebrated for her electric live show, Wallace has previously toured alongside the likes of Jordan Rakei, Masego (USA), Morcheeba (UK), Rag’n’Bone Man (UK), Little Simz (UK), Winston Surfshirt and Gabriel Garzon Montano (USA).
