Come and enjoy a walking tour of the city built on sand as we follow the vision of W.H. Reynolds, who created a beautiful seaside resort over 100 years ago. We will start where the city began: at the historically reconstructed LIRR station, which allowed access to the barrier island, and amble to the iconic boardwalk. Along the way, we will “show and tell” stories of important events, personalities, and developments of their time. We will end our tour at our Museum, home of the Long Beach Historical & Preservation Society, where you will have an opportunity to enjoy an art exhibit. You can soak up more local history with a docent-led tour of the house built in 1909 and browse our gift shop filled with relevant books and treasures.
