RIDE TYPE: approx. 21km loop through Logan Central, Kingston Butter Factory and along Slacks Creek Cycleway with a refreshment stop at Extraction Café.Mostly flat for social ride cyclists, where everyone can ride at their own pace, with lead and sweep riders to ensure we don’t lose any riders. Along as many off-road paths and back streets that we can connect together. Suitable for most bikes, although there are some timber slat bridges as well as some short sand and gravel sections that won’t suit narrow tyre road bikes.
PURPOSE: Discover Logan off-road paths and parks for exercise, new locations and new cycling friends.
NOTE: If you want to join this ride, please indicate you’re Going, as we need to confirm numbers for the Extraction Café booking.
If the weather becomes unsuitable for riding, we’ll post a Facebook Event message the night before to advise that the ride is either postponed or cancelled.
We’ll also check the weather in the morning in case there’s a change and if needed, we’ll post a Facebook message by 6:30am if the ride needs to be cancelled. So please, also recheck in the morning if the weather looks unsuitable.
By participating in this Logan BUG Ride, all participants confirm that:
1. This is an informal group ride organized by volunteers, where you agree to assume all risks and responsibilities for your own safety and the safety of others.
2. Each individual undertakes this bike ride at their sole risk and it is up to each individual to make sure they are capable and have the fitness and skill level to complete this bike ride.
3. You agree to follow all road and bikeway rules and comply with Queensland Cycling regulations, which include wearing helmets and eBikes needing to comply with the pedal assist EN15194 standard. Where we support BQ Advocacy, with non-compliant, “eMotorbikes” not able to participate in this ride.
