Next Generation Youth Project - Fast Fashion impacts - Upcycle a tshirt!

Fast Fashion impacts!! A workshop for age 12 - 17 year olds.

Fast Fashion is an environmental disaster with hundreds of tonnes of clothing sent to landfill or exported and dumped in faraway places such as Chile’s Atacama Desert. This mountain of clothes can now be seen from space! Even more shocking is the fact that many of these garments have never even been sold and will take hundreds of years to biodegrade, not to mention the water and fuel needed to make them!

Join us for a creative workshop where you can revamp an old T-shirt by cutting, sewing, painting with fabric paint or bleaching. Bring your own or we have some spare tshirts if you cant find one.

Highlight the environmental impact of fast fashion by upcycling and personalising your t-shirt to give it a new life.

All materials are provided (sewing machine, various haderdashery, paint, bleach, brushes, and a selection of second-hand T-shirts) but feel free to bring your own t shirt and anything else you might want to use !

A parent or guardian must be present on drop off or can stay and have a cup of tea or coffee while you wait.

These sessions are part of the Next Generation Youth Project and are delivered in collaboration with the EYE (Eco Young & Engaged) Project. The Next Generation Youth Project is one of the many projects that have formed under the local community charity - CREW .
