Newton Baroque presents Rheinberger Revealed: Trios and Solo Lieder by Josef Rheinberger

Discover the elegance of Josef Rheinberger’s Lieder in a concert that brings his poetic world to life. Inspired by the writings of his wife, Franziska von Hoffnaß, Rheinberger created a body of work that stands alongside Schumann for beauty and depth. This program highlights Zeiten und Stimmungen, op. 41, for three women’s voices, along with solo Lieder by Rheinberger, Brahms, Robert Schumann, and Clara Schumann, sung by Teresa Wakim, Kim Leeds, and Shiba Nemat-Nasser.

Experience these works as they were first imagined, accompanied on historic Streicher pianos from the 1860s and 70s, played by April Sun and Andrus Madsen.
