About this Event
News and Schmooze:
Join us as we look at news through the lens of history–and our own personal experiences. By discussing how headlines meet our lives, we will try to learn from each other and bring perspective to the current moment. For the January session we will be examining topics surrounding the presidential inauguration.
Moderated by Claudine Hutton, an Emmy Award-winning journalist. Over a 25-year career with CNN, the New York Times and other news organizations, Claudine has covered topics in political, business and international news for television, digital video and live events.

When Individuals Should Not Participate in DOROT’s In-Person Activities
The DOROT community’s wellbeing continues to be our top priority. Older adults, volunteers and DOROT staff should cancel their plans to come to DOROT or participate in any in-person scheduled activity, if they:
- Have tested positive in the past 5 days for COVID-19.
- Are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or other illnesses or are generally not feeling well.
DOROT continuously seeks the guidance of medical professionals and authorities and will adapt our protocols as the public health environment changes.
If you test positive for COVID-19 within 48 hours of participating in a program at DOROT, please reach out to your DOROT program contact. This is for informational purposes only. You may return in person programs after a 5-days and no longer symptomatic.
