About this Event

Newham Poetry Group is delighted to share that we have been awarded an Art Council grant to organise the borough’s first Newham Poetry Festival, Poetry For All. We will be delivering a series of workshops, open mics and end with a full weekend programme of poetry, spoken word and open mic at the Poetry House (Old Pavilion) in Stratford Park.

We want to reclaim the space for the community and make Stratford Park the most vibrant community hub in East London. Our programme focuses on amplifying marginalised voices offering the majority of the slots to young locals, LGBTQ+ individuals, migrants and people from the global majority.

The festival will take place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September, 1 to 5pm at the Poetry House (Old Pavilion) in Stratford Park (West Ham Lane, London E15 4PT). Some of our confirmed poets are: Momtaza Mehri, T M Ahmed Kaysher, Jenny Mitchell, David Lee Morgan, Charlynne Bryan, Isabel Punto, Olimpia Tisser, Bristena Mantu, Eddie Pile and many more prominent writers and spoken word artists.
