Why is Newfoundland such a popular diving destination? What makes divers from all over the world dive into these chilly Atlantic waters? There are many reasons, but one of them is born out of respect for WWII history. In 1942, Nazi Germany twice attacked Newfoundland. Due to the strikes, four ships sank and remain on the bottom of the ocean to this day. There are so many artifacts still intact on these wrecks, like guns, radios, and portholes. These wrecks are enormous, and leaves you wanting to dive the same wrecks over and over, as you barely scratch the surface with just a few dives.
Bell Island is unbelievably beautiful with amazing coral reefs and marine life, with the chance of seeing humpback whales! If you're cave diver certified, you can dive the Bell Island Mine. You can also experience the thrill of diving with the icebergs, which can be seen in the area from May-June.
You will be staying in a modern lodge in the heart of beautiful Conception Bay South, NL, Canada. You will enjoy the many ocean views and be minutes from all the action! Designed for adventurers, the Ocean Quest Lodge is a perfect home away from home.
The trip includeds:
7 nights accommodation (Twin or king at the luxury dive lodge)
5 days of Two-tank dives - 10 dives total (You may substitute a diving day for 1 on land activity of your choice)
All transportation for each diving/activity day
Airport transfers
Divers can choose single tanks, twin back mount, side-mount, or rebreather
Stages, Pony’s, and hardware included at no extra cost
Ocean Quest provides the following gas options: Air, Nitrox 28% and 100% O2.
On land adventure package—5 days of non-diving activities. Perfect for the non-diving partners. Land lubbers can choose from any of the tour options available during the time of stay. See the Tours section of the Ocean Quest Adventures website for more details.
Adventure and Dive Combo—For those travelers who want the BEST of both worlds. Pick 5 days of activities diving or non-diving.
Not Included:
Mine Quest Diving in the Bell Island Mines. CAD $400 + NL HST additional. Requirements: Minimum 4 divers per group with FULL CAVE or MINE DIVING Certification. BI Mine Diving will replace 1 day of Wreck Diving.
Iceberg Dive in season when available. CAD $400 + NL HST additional. Requirements: Demonstration of great Buoyancy and 100 certified dives in drysuit, surface marker buoy. Iceberg diving will replace 1 day of Wreck Diving.
