On Monday, December 22, from 4 to 7 p.m., come celebrate the grand opening of Clarington’s second outdoor refrigerated skating rink, located outside the Diane Hamre Recreation Complex (1780 Rudell Road, Newcastle). ⛸️Be among the first to skate the new rink and enjoy free festive fun for all ages—including inflatables, local performances, entertainment, and hot chocolate!
At 6 o’clock, gather ’round for a twinkling tree-lighting ceremony and feel the magic of moments shared together. 🌟
Event schedule:
3:30 p.m. Skate session wristbands available
4 p.m. Mayor Foster opens with remarks and official ribbon cutting
4:15 p.m. Orono Figure Skating Club performance
4:30 p.m. Skate session #1 begins, alongside special guest Brant the Fire Guy (ends at 5:20 p.m.)
5:30 p.m. Skate session #2 begins (ends at 6:20 p.m.)
6 p.m. Newcastle tree-lighting ceremony
6:30 p.m. Skate session #3 begins (ends at 7 p.m.)
