Part of a series of eight training events to help social housing residents understand their rights, how to stand up for them, and how to get better treatment and services from landlords. Further information about the Four Million Homes programme can be found at fourmillionhomes.orgThis session explores different options for resident control, ownership and management of their homes and assets.
It covers:
— what the community is trying to achieve
— building community support and membership
— different routes to ownership and management
— getting the right advice
It also looks at community owned housing associations in the UK and shares the journey of how one such organisation – Walterton & Elgin Community Homes – took control of its homes from the council 30 years ago and where they are now.
Session is open to all social housing residents. Tea and cakes will be the provided and there’ll be lots of opportunity to network and share experiences.
A support person is welcome to attend the training with you if needed. Please just let us know via email when you receive the confirmation.
The venue is wheelchair accessible.
