From 9am, Newbury town centre will host a full day of free, festive fun for the whole family to enjoy, building up to the big Christmas Lights Switch On finale at 6:30pm.
Whether you’re shopping for gifts, enjoying the day’s entertainment, or waiting for that magical moment when the town centre bursts into light, there’s plenty happening throughout the day to get you in the Christmas spirit.
Start your Christmas shopping early at the Christmas Charter Market along Northbrook Street or pop into the Corn Exchange for their Christmas Gift Fair.
Bartholomew Street will be transformed as the Festive Funfair comes to town for the whole weekend, and Newbury town centre’s fantastic selection of shops, bars and restaurants will be open as usual and embracing the celebrations.
Little ones can meet some very special visitors at the Living Nativity Petting Farm in Inch’s Yard, before a short hop over to Santa’s Grotto in the Kennet Centre - don’t forget to bring your letter!
You’ll never be far from the festivities, with local musicians and community groups providing classic carols, upbeat covers, and live performances across multiple stages throughout the town centre all day.
At 6:30pm, the Main Stage in Market Place will host the Christmas Lights Switch On finale, where we light up the town centre to mark the start of Christmas in Newbury.
