About this Event
The Newark STEM Ecosystem serves the counties of Essex, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union, and Warren in New Jersey. Our focus is to support activities aimed at college and career preparation, ultimately increasing students' chances of entering the modern STEM workforce and becoming STEM-literate citizens.
Our goal is to align the needs of PreK-20 learners and educators with the resources provided by employers and funders, while identifying and addressing gaps that must be bridged to ensure every student has the opportunity to excel in STEM fields.

STEM Connections: Building Bridges to Our Workforce
A day for stakeholders in education and industry to come together to exchange ideas and insights on improving and expanding STEM learning, ensuring K-20 students are well-prepared for the modern workforce.
A Day of Exploration
We will hold both large and small group sessions focused on effective curriculum strategies that promote student engagement and innovation. Our discussions will delve into innovative STEM and project-based learning practices, as well as the essential connections between PreK-20 education and industry.
We will also have time to visit exhibit tables, and participate in hands-on STEM demonstrations throughout the day.
This collaboration is vital for preparing students for the future workforce in Northern New Jersey and beyond. A detailed agenda is planning for release in November.

Newark STEM is seeking professionals and organizations that have interest in sharing their experiences and expertise in STEM learning and workforce development with our stakeholder community.
We are seeking proposals to lead small group 30-minute sessions that wrap around the day's themes, and the opportunities and challenges of preparing students for the workforce. Sessions should be interactive with clearly defined topics and session outcomes. Outcomes should be specific regarding any metrics or opportunities to scale a program or idea, and include action items following the convening. The sessions should shy away from being commercial or advocating for a specific product, service or solution.
Sessions are planned for the morning and afternoon, and where possible, will repeat to allow for more attendees to contribute to your session. Proposals should be submitted by November 8, 2025. Acceptances will be sent out by mid-November.
