The 36th annual interfaith Thanksgiving service presented by Newark Interfaith Leaders.The service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 7:00 p.m. at New Ark United Church of Christ, 300 E. Main St., Newark, DE.
The service will feature reflections from representatives of diverse faith traditions, music, and readings. An offering will be collected for the benefit of Friendship House of Delaware.
This year’s service has a theme of “Holy Human Interruption,” a reference to our call as fellow humans to “interrupt” the aspects of our society that don’t honor our human worth and leave some without necessities, especially housing. Attendees will hear stories of how some are seeking to address the affordable housing crisis and hear calls to action.
Singers are invited to join the community choir which will rehearse a performance piece at 6:00 p.m. before the service.
