Free wildlife walk: Spaces must be booked via Eventbrite. If you change your mind or could not attend, please don't forget to cancel so we can give your space to someone else.
Join us for a light stroll as we take in the beauty that Thameside Nature Discovery Park, Thameside, has to offer as we celebrate the local wildlife and the start of the New Year! Our team of coastal rangers will guide you from Thameside car park towards Standford Wharf and back. Please note that this walk will not be suitable for people that cannot walk long distances and over mixed terrain.
They'll be pointing out not only the magnificent bird species we have on our coast, but also the important habitats and a variety of wildlife along the way. We'll be celebrating the return of our migratory ducks, geese and wading birds for the winter. Special thanks to Essex Wildlife Trust for their support in running this event.
Whether you're after a fun family activity, you're a seasoned birdwatcher or just wanting to be outside in nature, this walk is perfect for you! Walks are suitable for all ages, and well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times to avoid disturbing the wildlife. Tickets must be booked for all adults and children attending, and under 18s must attend with an adult.
We will meet at Thameside Nature Discovery Park car park (outside of the centre) at 10:00AM. Please bring suitable footwear, as the paths can get muddy and slippery after wet weather. Toilets are available within the centre.
