You are invited to join us in a day of nourishing feel-good movement, sound immersion and singing for wellbeing with Morven. It's about connecting to joy through singing, not the sound you make (and no solos are planned) ! This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect to your yoga after the Christmas break.
We will start the day with a yoga practice to feel good in the body. Our yoga will include gentle breath work, slow, easeful flowing movement, guided relaxation and meditation. By tuning into the body we can learn to listen to its rhythms, stories and songs.
If you like, you can bring a dish to share and we will have a potluck lunch together.
After lunch, there will be a singing circle. We'll share some simple songs that are easy to learn and have only one or two lines. I will teach you the song by call and response, then we'll all sing together. No solos! All you need for this, is to be able to breathe and there is no expectation to sing if you don't want to. The melodies are lovely to listen to so you can just listen or hum if you want.
Following our singing, we'll do some restorative yoga with restful, long-held postures supported by props for comfort and tension-release.
Your outro will be a sound immersion where you will bathe in the healing vibrations of voice, gong and singing bowls. Other instruments include flute, harp and koshi bells.
All are welcome to attend - the practices are suitable for beginners and seasoned practitioners of yoga. This day is about taking care of yourself and remembering to listen to your own song.
