What was the date of the New Year before the Gregorian calendar? March 25
The Julian Calendar was replaced by the Gregorian Calendar, changing the formula for calculating leap years. The beginning of the legal new year was moved from March 25 to January 1
My thoughts.. 13 months, 28 days each around the moon and women's natural cycles. I believe “Sol” is the added month after June, making March the 13th month. April 1 is April Fool's, to mock the "fools" that celebrate the new year still then. It makes more sense to me to celebrate the New year with the New growth of spring. We have been lied to about so much. Love to all
Did we originally have 13 months in a year? Yes!
The 13-month, 28 day alternative has been in use on this planet for more than 6000 years. In prehistoric India and China, and throughout South America it was the standard time-keeping system. The Essenes, Egyptian, Polynesian, Maya, Inca, Lakota, and Cherokee used a 13-month, 28 day calendar.Jan 14, 2019
What was the original 13 month calendar?
The 13-month calendar was devised by Auguste Comte in 1849. It was based on a 364-day year which included the one or two "blank" days that Abbé Mastrofini, an Italian Roman Catholic priest, had devised 15 years before. Each of the 13 months had 28 days and exactly four weeks.
