Join us for our first Workshopping Circle! This event is open to any writer, in any genre. Feel free to bring a short selection to share and discuss with other writers. Nervous? Don't be! Before you share your piece, you can also request the type of feedback you're seeking. (examples might include: "I only want to hear about what works", "I'm open to any feedback", "I think something isn't working, but I'm not sure what")
Details:
Please limit your selection to 1-2 poems (max 3 pages), or 250 words of prose. If you are excerpting a longer work, please include a could of sentences explaining the larger context of the piece and the general plot of your work so readers can give their best feedback.
We do request that if your work deals with sensitive subject matter, you include a content warning at the beginning of your selection. We will not workshop material that advocates hate or violence.
To share, it's easiest if your work is on Google Drive or if you're able to email it to others. In future months, we may elect to send work ahead of the meeting.
*If we don't have enough work to fill the time, we may choose to do a close reading of a published work. If you have a short work you'd like to explore in this way, please bring it!
