New Voices, New Stories: A Celebration of Student PlaywrightsUMass Boston Performing Arts proudly presents a series of world premiere short plays by UMass Boston student playwrights. Seven plays, directed by Prof. Carrie Ann Quinn and -- for the first time -- two student directors, Nakatto Dalison Nassozi and Anna Eliza Pumphrey.
Tickets -- $5 -- are available at umb.universitytickets.com (On sale September 13)
Running October 3, 4 and 5, plays are presented in staged reading format, and the audience is invited to remain post-performance for a talkback with the playwrights after the October 3 and 5 performances. As new plays, the playwrights gain from your feedback as they develop them further. Plays will later be submitted to the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
This year's plays include:
Teenage Dreams by Megan Feudo
AAA by Meghan Geslin
Ohio James by Leo Khomiakov
Andy vs. the Play by Denis Lemus
Chained Confessions by Vanessa Medeiros
