Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture


We are thrilled to host 2025 PMRCAA Artist in Residence, Barbara Holmes, for this one-of-a kind printmaking workshop! Discover old and new methods of nature printing and create a unique piece of art to take home.


Workshop Highlights:

Explore Old and New Techiques in Nature Printing: Learn and explore old printing techniques that predate photography! In addition to the old, Barbara will demonstrate a novel printing technique developed and inspired by Chinese ink rubbings.

Cyanotype Basics: With guidance from Barbara, participants will discover the basics of cyanotype printing, and experiment with differerent compositions and materials for their prints.

Mixed Media Collage: Workshop participants will have the opportunity to combine print techniques, and any other preferred materials, to create their own mixed media collages.


All skill levels welcome!


Materials to bring:

If you wold like, you may bring pressed leaves and other plant life of your choosing and any other art media you might want to combine with your nature prints (e.g. watercolors, colored pencils, collage materials, etc.)
All other materials will be supplied.


About the Instructor:

Barbara Holmes is a Southern California-based artist and educator with over two decades of experience in the arts. Known for reimagining discarded materials and construction waste, Barbara’s practice imbues these elements with renewed context and meaning. She is currently exploring themes about environmental issues in the Great Basin region.


Cancellation Policy:

$20 cancellation fee

Less than 1 week before workshop: 0% refund

7-14 Days before workshop, 50% refund

Full refunds will be given if PMRCAA cancels the event due to inclement weather, or if the instructor cannot teach the workshop.

All workshop cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]
