We’re excited to officially welcome you to campus during Pack Pride New Student Convocation, a new tradition that celebrates the beginning of your journey at CSU Pueblo!While Convocation has been part of our campus culture for over 15 years, this year’s format is bigger and better, bringing together alumni, faculty, staff, and the community to support and celebrate you, our newest ThunderWolves.
You will be part of a special procession that highlights three iconic campus landmarks: the Thunderbowl, the Iconic Image, and the Fountain Plaza.
Event Details for Students:
2:00 p.m. Thunderbowl – T-shirt, photo, park or walk (20 min)
2:50 p.m. Procession to Fountain Plaza (Marching Band)
3:00 p.m. Convocation – Welcome, remarks, pledge, sign Spirit Rock
3:30 p.m. Ice Cream Social & Ballet Folklorico
What to Wear: You will receive your “Pack ON” t-shirt at the Thunderbowl. Wear it proudly during the photo, procession, and ceremony! You will be doing some walking so please wear comfortable shoes!
Event Details for Alumni & Community:
Community Role: This year’s New Student Convocation includes alumni and community supporters to welcome the newest Thunderwolves with energy, pride, and spirit.
2:15 p.m. Iconic Image (west of library) – Group photo, make signs, show Pack Pride (parking in W-3)
2:50 p.m. Procession to Fountain Plaza to meet new students
3:00 p.m. Convocation – Performances, remarks, pledge
3:30 p.m. Ice Cream Social & Ballet Folklorico
Event Details for Staff & Faculty:
Faculty Role: Process with campus, pin new students with academic pins, wear regalia (no cap/tam) or CSU Pueblo shirt.
2:15 p.m. Iconic Image – Group photo with alumni, staff, community supporters
2:50 p.m. Procession to Fountain Plaza – Greet and welcome students
3:00 p.m. Convocation – Remarks, pledge, pinning ceremony
After Students sign Spirit Rock
3:30 p.m. Ice Cream Social & Ballet Folklorico
Weather Reminder:
Please dress comfortably and consider bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, and water. Shaded areas and hydration stations will be available. If severe weather arises, the event will move indoors, we will send an email with updates. Follow CSU Pueblo on social media for updates.
