Be one of the first to volunteer at this new prairie worksite: Oreida Prairie within the Coolbough Natural Areas Preserve!
This “hidden gem” is ripe for restoration, and NCEC and MNA are inviting you to join our team for this privilege.
IMPORTANT: We will carpool from the main Coolbough Parking Lot to this “secret” site. You must arrive by 10a.m. The carpool will leave at 10:15 sharp! You will not be able to drive to the site yourself. You must arrive on time! We will need cars and drivers who are ok driving on two track roads to help bring volunteers to the site.
OTHER IMPORTANT: We can use volunteers to help with cutting brush with loppers and limb saws; haul brush; and help with herbicide daubing of stumps.
EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: We will need folks who are able to use chain saws safely and who have their own personal protective equipment. Bring your own chain saw if able, some will be provided. Only folks who are able to demonstrate safety will be allowed to use chainsaws.
AS ALWAYS: Dress for weather conditions!
And feel free to bring shareable snacks!
CANCELLATION due to weather will be posted the night before on Facebook, on the NCEC Calendar, and via Enews.
