132 years and one day after women secured the right to vote in Aotearoa, we are gathering again in strength and solidarity.
The Government gutted Pay Equity legislation that would have eased the cost of living and lifted pay of 182,000+ people. Across Aotearoa there will be activations to send a clear message: Pay equity is not optional. Our livelihoods should never be on the political chopping block.
Where: Puke Ariki Landing
When: 12pm-3pm
What: A community friendly event for the whole whānau with speeches from workers impacted by pay equity, a bouncy castle, stalls, health checks, facepainting and more.
Wear: purple, green and white in honour of suffrage
