Prepare to witness a live performance like no other - a full band experience, where Bohemian Cristal Instrument will be accompanied by a talented ensemble of musicians (Ariel Sol on harp, Dan Burdman on drums) and visual artists (Chris Soohoo, Jonathan Gudino).

Artist quote: To me, BCI (they/them) is not an instrument but a genderless, post-human entity with its own vibrant agency. It transforms the local tradition of Czech glass into both physical and sonic forms. In our collaboration, I strive to respect its natural sound tendencies and moods, acting more as a mediator between the instrument and the audience, without imposing too much of myself. Inspired by Barthes' concept of the death of the author, I similarly relinquish my composer's ego, control, and power over matter and thought, allowing the instrument to resonate freely in this world and beyond, and with the people around it," comments Lenka Morávková on her unique journey with the BCI.

About Lenka Morávková and Bohemian Cristal Instrument:

Lenka Morávková is a Czech-born, LA-based sound artist, musician, and scholar. She is internationally acclaimed for her Bohemian Cristal Instrument, a glass sound sculpture that innovatively expands the capabilities of the traditional Cristal Baschet. Hailing from the Czech Republic’s renowned glass-making region, Lenka has skillfully fused her heritage with contemporary music, creating a mesmerizing auditory and visual experience “beyond “music.

BCI's achievements dazzle: a viral California desert video, a TEDx Talk in the USA, and live shows at Eurosonic Noordeslag, Colours of Ostrava, Summit LA, and All About Music in Mumbai. Collaborations with Hollywood's finest movie composers - Bear McCreary, Stephanie Economou, and Jeff Rona. Their music even graced Lightning In A Bottle, one of America's largest festivals. Plus, a groundbreaking concept of the music video for NEW NATURE was acknowledged at ISEA 2023 in Paris.

Besides Lenka's work with BCI, her interactive installation were exhibited in various places in Europe and she also produces edm music under a MY NAME IS ANN alter ego.
