✨ About Gold Hill Kiva:
The Gold Hill Kiva holds a special place in our hearts. It has been the backdrop for countless ceremonies and gatherings that have brought joy and unity to our community. However, the passage of time has taken its toll, and the Kiva is in need of repairs and upkeep to ensure it can continue to serve future generations. Inspired by Joseph Rael, who influenced many Kivas including this one, the Gold Hill Kiva continues to be a place of spiritual significance and community bonding.
✨ Drum for a Cause:
Join us as we drum for a cause and support the restoration efforts for the Gold Hill Kiva. Your participation in this special event will not only enrich your soul with rhythm and music but also contribute to preserving a cherished community space. Every beat of the drum will resonate with the spirit of generosity and community spirit.
✨ Event Schedule:
Arrival / Settling in, meet and greet opportunities.
Drum circle commencement with meditation guided by Alyssa and a special blessing from the Gold Hill Kiva.
Alyssa BC's harp with call-and-response songs.
Tim Dabrowski leads a traditional Djembe Jam.
Sunset / Pack up, go home.
✨ How You Can Help:
If you're unable to attend but would like to support the restoration and upkeep of the Gold Hill Kiva, you can donate via Venmo to @Jeffrey-Combelic (Gold Hill Kiva). Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in preserving this sacred space for future generations.
Please Note:
No Fire Allowed: For safety reasons, absolutely no open flames or fires are permitted within the drum circle area. This helps prevent any accidental fires and preserves the natural environment.
Respect the Environment: Treat the mountain surroundings with utmost respect. Avoid damaging or disturbing plants, wildlife, and natural features. Leave no trace of your presence by properly disposing of any trash.
Be Kind and Inclusive: Embrace a spirit of inclusivity and kindness. Welcome drummers of all skill levels and backgrounds to join the circle. Share the rhythm and the experience in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Respect Personal Space: When drumming in a group, it's important to respect each other's personal space. Be mindful of your drum's reach and ensure that everyone has enough room to play comfortably.
Follow Organizers' Instructions: If there are designated organizers or leaders for the drum circle, follow their instructions regarding timing, breaks, and any specific guidelines they provide.
Respect Cultural Traditions: If there are cultural or traditional elements associated with the drumming, be respectful of them. Avoid appropriating or misusing symbols, rituals, or instruments.
Pack In, Pack Out: Bring your own instruments and equipment, and make sure to take everything with you when you leave. Leave the area as you found it, or better.
Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared for changes in weather or unforeseen circumstances. Bring appropriate clothing, water, and any necessary items to ensure your comfort and safety.
Quiet Hours: If the drum circle occurs during a time when others may be resting nearby, respect quiet hours and keep the volume level appropriate.
Non-Discrimination: Everyone is welcome regardless of race, gender, age, religion, or background. Maintain an atmosphere of inclusivity and avoid any form of discrimination.
Focus on Rhythm, Not Competition: Drum circles are about collective harmony, not competition. Encourage cooperation and collaboration rather than trying to outshine others.
Consent and Boundaries: Always obtain consent before including others in the drum circle or touching their instruments. Respect each person's personal boundaries.
Leave Egos Behind: Engage with a spirit of humility and a willingness to learn from others. Drumming is a shared experience that transcends individual egos.
Your support and generosity will ensure that the Gold Hill Kiva continues to be a beacon of community and connection for years to come. Let's drum together for a cause and make a meaningful difference!
