Wednesday 30th July at 7pm outside High Lea hall, in High lea Park 1.5 Miles This will be a guided walk with introductions to each of the local attractions that the trail links: the Community Orchard, High Lea Hall, Rock Mill Centre, Torrs Hydro and Torr Vale Mill.
The timing of all walks is approximate. The walks are free, but donations are very welcome.

About New Mills: Located in the High Peak, on the confluence of the Rivers Goyt and Sett, the town is divided by the Torrs, a sandstone gorge about 30 metres deep, The town of New Mills was first mentioned in medieval times. The town's wealth was built upon the many mills that were serviced by the Peak Forest Canal and by two railway lines out of Manchester
Piccadilly - to Sheffield and Buxton.
About New Mills Walkers are Welcome: Founded in 2013 and part of a national network of towns and villages with much to offer walkers of all standards, we aim to provide information about walking in the area on the paths we help to maintain.
Free, though donations are welcome.
Getting There: By bus, bus number 358, from Stockport or Hayfield, or no.60, Macclesfield to Hayfield, or no.61, Buxton to Hayfield. By Train New Mills Central serves the Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield trains. Dismounting, walk uphill, turn right and then right again at the Bus Station. New Mills Newtown serves the Buxton line out of Piccadilly. Walk downhill to the traffic lights, and turn left up Union Road. The Bus Station is by the mini-roundabout..
About the Walk Leader: Mike Daniels will be the leader for the walks. He is Chair of New Mills Walkers are Welcome and Secretary to the Local History Society, and admits to being 'talkative.'
