Loaners will be available, but we hope that most singers will plan to buy their new book at the singing. Sacred Harp Publishing Company has recently announced that the book price is $20.
🌟FRIDAY Singing School 🌟
We’re so excited to welcome composer and teacher extraordinaire David Wright to teach a Singing School the Friday of our New Mexico Convention weekend!!
David Wright, a member of the Revision-Music Committee for the 2025 Edition, will share elements of the new book which illustrate some of the considerations taken into account by the committee, the range of resources and expertise within the singing community that the committee was able to draw on, and interesting Sacred Harp historical oddities.
Friday, October 3rd
5:30–7:30 PM (with a short break)
The Open Circle Church, 645 Webber St. Santa Fe — our usual weekly singing location. Be aware this is *not* the Sat/Sun location.
Bring along your copies of The Shenandoah Harmony and The Valley Pocket Harmonist if you would like to sing from them at the social.
SINGING: 9:30am - 3:00pm
REGISTRATION AND BOOK SALES: 8:45am
As this is one of the very first singings in the West using the 2025 edition of The Sacred Harp, we have arranged to have many books on hand for sale to all visiting and local singers. Please bring cash or checks to expedite sales at the weekend's events.
SANTA FE THURSDAY SINGING: Come a day early and enjoy our weekly sing from 5:30-7:30 at 645 Webber St.

SOCIAL: We will host a social in Santa Fe on Saturday evening. Informal singing from The Shenandoah Harmony and The Valley Pocket Harmonist will happen if there’s interest! Details will be shared on Saturday.
QUESTIONS: Please direct non-housing questions to chairperson Irene Gilb at nmsacredharp(at)gmail(dot)com.
HOUSING: https://tinyurl.com/NMSHHousing
We look forward to helping you coordinate your stay during the convention. This year our convention is the same time as the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, an annual spectacle attracting thousands of visitors from around the world, meaning accommodations in Santa Fe will be scarce. To assist traveling singers, we have three different options to help with this: limited local hosting, a shared airbnb house, and a special hotel rate at The Sage Hotel. Please follow the link above to our Housing/Transportation Request Form to learn more about the options and to communicate your needs and preferences.
Connect with Mitchell Gustin at mitchellgustin(at)gmail(dot)com with any housing questions.

PUBLIC HEALTH PRECAUTIONS:
Same-day Covid testing will not be required, but is recommended. Please do not attend the singing if you are experiencing any symptoms of respiratory illness or have recently tested positive for or been exposed to COVID. You know what to look for! Masks are also welcome but not required.

We will have a sign-up sheet for contact tracing if you would like to be notified of any Covid cases that we hear of after the convention. If you do develop symptoms and test positive, please contact us at nmsacredharp(at)gmail(dot)com.
