ERTUGRUL ERKISI (Guitar, Vocal) :
Ertugrul Erkisi is a famous Turkish artist known for his amazing musical talent. He graduated from a music conservatory and is currently studying for a PhD in music. He has produced many popular albums and solo music CDs. For over ten years, he has shared his music on TRT radio, reaching a larger audience. With 35 years of experience, he has performed live thousands of times all over the world. Ertugrul is a versatile musician who plays several instruments, including the oud, tambour, guitar, lute, and bowed tambour, making him a well-rounded artist.
LEFTERIS BOURNIAS (Clarinet) :
Lefteris Bournias has a rich musical heritage shaped by his Greek roots and upbringing in Queens, New York. Born to parents from the island of Chios, his connection to his ancestry runs deep. His father, Elias Bournias, a skilled floghera player, played a pivotal role in Lefteri's musical journey, introducing him to the vibrant sounds of Asia Minor. Starting to play the clarinet at the age of 11, Lefteris not only embraced his family's traditions but also contributed to the preservation and evolution of this cultural music, blending his diverse experiences from both Greece and America. His story reflects the powerful influence of heritage and the passion for music that transcends borders.
ASLIHAN ERKISI (Qanun, Vocal) :
Aslihan Erkisi is a Turkish artist with roots in Preveza, Greece, and she was born in Germany. She graduated first in her conservatory education across all branches of the ITU Conservatory and served as a maqam music lecturer at ITU. Aslihan has won top prizes in prestigious vocal competitions in Turkey and has contributed as a solo singer on hit albums. She is also a choir director and has served as a jury member for well-known music competitions around the world. In addition to her singing, she performs on instruments like the piano, Istanbul kemence, and kanun, showcasing her passion for Turkish music.
MAVROTHI KONTANIS (Oud - Vocal) :
Mavrothi Kontanis is a talented multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, and teacher, born and raised in the U.S. but deeply rooted in Halkidiki, Greece. His primary instrument is the oud, which he plays with remarkable skill. Mavrothi has studied and performed alongside some of the world’s top musicians, enhancing his craft and broadening his musical horizons. His passion for performing is beautifully complemented by his love for teaching and composing, making him a versatile and inspiring figure in the music community.
