Some experience of throwing is essential. You must be able to centre clay and knuckle up.
Our Intermediate III throwers course is designed for potters who have undertaken our 6-week beginners course or are familiar with throwing basic pots.
In week 1 we will throw jars with a gallery and a simple lid.
In week 2 we'll turn the lid add a knob and handles on the jar if you like and talk about decoration.
In week 3 we will throw jars with a gallery in the lid and in week 4 add a knob and handles.
This course includes slip decoration. If you prefer a glaze finish you can add an optional 5th week (£20) to glaze your pots. A range of Amaco and Mayco glazes are available to purchase from the studio gallery or you can use your own glazes.

Transparent glazing and firing of 4 lidded jars included. Additional pots can be fired at a cost of 0.5p per gram
Amaco and Mayco glazes are available to purchase in the gallery shop
2 hours studio time each session. Clean up takes around 20 minutes so plan this in your timings.
