NEW 3 Week Intermediate II Throwers Breakfast Bowl Making Course – Sundays 12– 2 £60
Make a pair of breakfast bowls
Some experience of throwing is essential. You must be able to centre clay and knuckle up.
Our Intermediate II throwers course is designed for potters who have undertaken our 6-week beginners course although it is also suitable for beginners stuck in a beginners throwing rut.
In week 1 we take a look at bowls – smooth rounded bases and huggable sides. Using throwing techniques and the support required to throw a smooth rounded shape with no internal steps.
In week 2 we’ll be turning the bowls to perfect the shape weight and feel. We’ll look at proportion and foot rings.
The first 2 weeks are consecutive and depending on how you want to decorate your bowls (slip and underglaze or a glaze) the 3rd week will be booked at the appropriate time to take account of any firing that is required. This can be booked on a date to suit you during term times.
Unlimited clay and slip for decoration.
